hey everyone,
ive been thinking about making a website for awhile now be never seemed to have the time. Now it''s holidays i started thinkin bout it again. The only problem im having is im not sure what to make it on. I don't wanna do gaming as there are already soooooo many of them

what is something you've always wanted or think is a good idea or something?

and just for a query, was this site made with dreamweaver ect. or like a template?

ps. i don't wanna do illegal stuff

Don't use Dreamweaver.

Unless you want to do illegal stuff, Dreamweaaver is expensive to buy.

Notepad is what my site started on.
Then I found this:
nvudev.com/

Saves time.

Either way is good.

As for website content, I don't know tbh.

I've started mainly with flash games, but it's difficult and a pain in the neck to update.

It's your site, it's up to you.

Yeah, I'd learn some web coding. Personally I hate dreamweaver, even at school when our assigment was to make a page in dreamweaver, I coded it in notepad then copy n' pasted that into dreamweaver.

Content? It's really up to you. It has to be something YOU are going to find interesting, and want to work on/update.

For those of you who use notepad for coding...

Try notepad ++ some time.

I find it's rather useful, as it colour codes your coding as you go along, and you can kind of minimise the content of tags. Hard to explain. Download it, try it, and never go back

Feature list and download on the page below.

I used notepad++ for a while but eventually went back to notepad.
I found I never got any benefit from the advanced features and that 1 extra second it takes to load annoys me no end...
I could have the worlds greatest development suite on my computer, but I'd still end up using notepad...

BJ2 - Are you good with HTML, CSS etc etc?
If you aren't, I'd probably suggest looking at something like Word Press or Tumblr.
If you're pretty good with HTML and CSS I'd suggest looking at Joomla or Drupal...

By the way, there are heaps of sites on everything, not just gaming...
My suggestion is setting up www.if**kedthesegirls.com (it's available!)... The site URL pretty much sums up the site...

Difference between HTML and CSS:
HTML:
<html>
<body>

<p style="red">
<b>
<font size="3" face="Times">
blah
</p>

</body>
</html>

CSS:
<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
p { font-weight: bold; pt: 3; font-family: Times; color: red ; }
</style>
</head>

<body>
<p>
blah
</p>

</body>
</html>

Both of these with output the exact same thing.
