Yes, I'm in the market (well...maybe for my birthday anyway) for some new speakers

Can't cost more than $200.

Anyone got any reccomendations?

Okay.
If you want average 5.1 computer speakers then go for the Logitech X-530
They're $99 at EB and JB
They're not good but they're not bad. My cousin has them

If you're serious about having good sound with a cheap price. Go for the Logitech X-540. These are probs the best wired speakers I've had. Great sound and cheap price...
They're have a RRP of $199 but you can get them @ $145 @ JB

The second one that i mentioned are real 5.1, they're the best if you have a budget like insectoid. The first on is just if you want to brag about having 5.1 The bass response is to distorted and the rear speakers bring the amount of quality of sound of the PSP's speakers.
If you really want to have the ultimate sound, go for the third one, MY ONE!
well hope all goes well insectoid.

oh, and at night (11pm-2am) when I'm playing counterstrike, I use these babys.

They are cheap and give average sound. the sound is equivalent with the small Sennieser ones. I think the 30-50 dollar ones.

and a sub woofer. and a 5.1 sound card. without that there's no point in surround sound.
I stole the headset from my mums work

They're really good if your looking for a headset which handle low frequencies really well. (lots of bass that doesn't sound bad.

I have Logitech's. I got them $99 from EB like 2 years ago but they were having a clearance.

They go good for their price, especially with my PS3. But i cannot seem to get EVERY speaker working with my PC? Only one does (the main one) and i have all the cords plugged in right and in the right sockets.

Have you got a correct driver for the 5.1 sound card.
please don't tell me you have no 5.1 sound card.
oh, and those speakers you got are the Logitech X-530.
And I bought them when they were having a clearance.
Then i found out 1 week later all around the shops they're all $99.

They're small because they're powerful.

The pic above isn't classified as 5.1 because they are like the worst 5.1 but still are kinda good.
Bass depends on the environment your in (room setting) cause sometimes when you put the sub somewhere you won't even be able to hear it. Surround sound is the best if you have a functional sound card and a movie/game that supports 5.1/7.1. It's the best for counterstirke as you can listen where footsteps are coming from.
You gotta have surround sound if you play games or listen to movies a lot. Even 4.1 would do.

Yes they sound great, but when you hear higher class ones, you will say they sound crap. But the ones you have are good if your just looking for sound that is good enough for you.
as for me, i care about my sound too much!

They're my speakers. They go alright for the room im having them in (bedroom). I know they're supposed to be 'surround'

But i like having it all together.. and my room isnt really big enough for surround sound lol

See the Logitech ones. Sorry, it jumped to $17 more.

But it still has that knob thingy, which is great because you don't have to reach to the speaker to change it. I did a few hours of research and the subwoofer shoots into the ground, and some other small things.

Yours are still great though! Those 2 speakers are great ones.
