News \ Chinese Gamers Now Required to Use Real Names for Online Gaming

The Chinese Government have implemented a new policy for registering for online games - being that they have to use their real names.
Are the Chinese Government trying to stop cyber criminals or something else?

The daily article in China did not reveal anything else about the new policy other than four online gaming companies have had all their operations suspended for not having the "mandatory anti-addiction system".

Not many people even knew such a system existed, but according to the Chinese Government, it does.
