EA has announced they will be releasing another three Need for Speed titles, all set to be released somewhere on the globe in 2009.
NFS: Undercover was released back in November 2008, to lets say, not the best reception. Metacritic settled on a score of 52/100, resulting from 'mixed or average reviews'. IGN handed out a mediocre rating in 5.5/10. Many called for the NFS series to be cut, dumped, dropped, whatever you want to call it. But now it is back.
Joystiq has unveiled Need for Speed: Shift, scheduled to hit North American stores around September-November 2009. It will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, PC and PSP. Black Box and Slightly Mad Studios will be involved with EA Games Europe in developing the game.
Need for Speed: Nitro will also be released around the same time, on DS and Wii. It will be developed by EA Montreal, promising to take advantage of the unique controls on offer for both platforms.
Need for Speed: World Online is also set for PC, jointly developed by Black Box and EA Shanghai. The online racer is set to launch in Asia in the next few months, with a North American release slated for the next US summer.
