Get Foxtel, ive got Austar....lets say it's very limited, it hasn't got as many options as Foxtel. But Austar is meant to have a new TV Guide soon (big woop aint it).

yeh all the channels are the same, but the packages you can get them in are different. If ur a sports fan like me or u like the news or something and ur going to use digital (when u press red and stuff) then Foxtel is better.

I got Austar, and they are almost identical, except with Foxtel, they have more 'Press the red button'options, where as Sky News, is the only 'PTRB' channel that Austar has.

Also, Foxtel have TIVO (a video recorder with a HDD), it also lets you pause you TV shows, and continue to watch them later.

< It spools your TV show on the HDD, when u press pause the movie continues to be stored on the Hard Drive, until you come back, then it streams the content that was stored when you originally pressed the pause button >
.
Foxtel is defineately better than Austar if TIVO is what you want, but aside from that, they are the same.

You mean Foxtel iQ, and it actually costs more money and cannot store as much as TiVo can..... I would still suggest Foxtel over Austar for better package choices and interactivity.... Now if you could only play PS2 over Foxtel cables (online)

Oh yeah, I have Foxtel

they ARE the exact same as they are for same company like Terry white chemists and Chemmart both owned by same ppl so there you go secrets all out and as for Foxtel IQ it is $200 then an extra 20 per month
As Djaye said foxtel has more press the red button options but really wat u want!!!

yeah, but who uses that damn red button thing anyway? that ad austar had a while back with the animated guy singing 'i'm your little red button baby, we're gonna get on fine' really turned me off ever wanting to touch it.
they're exactly the same company anyway, austar just isn't advertised as much.

Austar is more country based, Foxtel is city based.... iQ does NOT cost extra $20 per month (pspfool: your trippin). I used to sell Foxtel and iQ, iQ only costs an extra $5 per month and is $200 extra to install... Also iQ plugs into 2 cable plugs, so it actually allows you to watch one Foxtel channel and record another one at the same time, also has a few good features (like series link which allows you to tape all the episodes of one series (without repeats) with just one buton click.... quite good)

Yeah, I've got 2 boxes both on Super Supreme, or Gold or whatever they call it these days, and I pay $118

So one box with the lot is about $95.00 or $49.95 for the Napolean without extra cheese (basic channels)
