It ranges quite a bit on this site, there is an 11 year old (lilsixer) up to about the mid thirties I think. I am 17, there are quite a few who are 17... People who are in their 20's are common too....

The PSP is probably too expensive for a 10 year old to have, thats why I'd say it hasnt replaced the gameboy yet. It is also more complex to use as it has more functions....
