Hey every1 did u see on sunrise this morning about the new computer game called rule out rose, anyway its about to be released in australia and it is already out in the states and it has already been banded there. it was banned because it is contain explicit violence towards a orphern and other violent acctivities, although when it was on sunrise they showed a clip of it and its graphics are absoulutly amazing i mean really spectacular, so what are all of your thoughts and beliefs about this game, like do you think it should be banned. ?????

Is there a link anywhere to this game? But from what you said - if its violent towards an orphan - then there is no place in the world for a game like that. There is violence and then there is extreme violence.

And even though violence does occur out there - I reckon banning of such material is the right thing to do as it will only promote such bad behaviour. If we are not desensitised to extreme violence, then we are more likely to do the right thing if we see it happening in real life.

While explicit violence is a rarity in Rule of Rose, some sequences - such as the vicious beating of a shifting shape in a sack (later revealed to be a dog) and the Red Crayon Aristocrats torment of Jennifer using the now infamous 'rat-on-a-stick' - are undoubtedly both unsettling and aimed firmly toward a mature audience.

If it gets banned in too many places, they'll probably just cut out the violence and try again.

Its not banned in the States because they have a R18+ Rating. Australia can't rate it so they can't sell it.

No in the US they have a rating for over 18+ games it's AO (Adults Only), seriously Australia does need a rating with R18+.

Dude its soo anoying i know from your(s) point of view it may seem wrong but me and many others think its BS i mean people play games young and old to escape reality do all the things we cant do in real life I.E violence to what ever you choose whther it be human or animal,Games are becoming more like it and i wouldnt talk about decensitising people with violence in video games i mean violence is all around us schools, communitys, citys THE WORLD i mean we got people dying in countries overseas and i dont see the news banning the graphic images, only reason things like this happen is because some rtard plays the game and takes it so seriously he decides to kill or hurt someone or sumthin and he just blames it on games but for people like us (normals) we simply play to relax or like i sed escape reality or just have fun blastin people with uzi's.

Thanks for reading hope yous see it the way i do.

I agree.

It shouldn't be banned but then again it should because people take games to seriousley though. Like I've seen peole cry because they got killed in God Of War or something like that game.

It shouldn't be banned because it's just a a game it's not like anyone in Australia is going to buy a gun rocket launcher uzi or something and go into a rampage and start shooting everyone that goes buy, that was like 10-20 years ago down in Port Arthur down in Tasmania and the Ned Kelley thing.... But they were Ages ago!

So it really depends which way you take it in and what pro's and cons there are to it...

Basically, It should be rated R18+ but they don't have them game ratings in Australia...

I want to be able to choose what is good or bad, comes down to choice
not some dh to say a game should be ban.
Movies have a R18+ Rating but not games!

ye, i agree with all of u, patty16 and LIM13, those were some really great statements, if only the australian gaming watever association could read that. alot of gamers just want to play to see how its like, y would it make ppl go out and kill some1. u only hear that usually from america sometimes, but a games a games not a killing educational. games are for entertainment not for life like violence. u guys r rite, ive seen like 5 yr olds playing GTA, nofin happened to them. they like it cause they can kill in the game, not in real life, they want to hav just shooting ppl, stealing cars or somefin. they dont learn from the game like 'oh, maybe we should try that'.

i really appreciate to whoever read all of that. as a gamer like me, i like the games for fun cause i can do things in the game that i cant do in real life. Gaming is for life!

It is well documented that children experiencing violence at home are far more likely to be violent to others. You can blame movies, TV, video games, and music for almost anything because it's easy.

But their environment and the behavior of the people around them are a much greater influence.
