Are you doign some sort of project? cos i rember once you were asking about html frames...i worked out how to do proper frames now, not just iframes, so if you want help with that...

Roy told me the site was writted in C++, which i dotn udnerstand since its a language used for programs etc, however id o belive him now since theres a thing ot make a C doc in dreamweaver...he is yet to explain it to me...*yes im still wating xD)

Only if you go to a free web hosting site, and use theres. In which case you have to use their software to set it up, and u have all the **** ads, and its very limited.

Yes you can setup a free site, using a free host of course

i use awardspace.com lots of features, mysql, and its all free. It use to be only free, but now there are "server upgrades". When we had a similar discussion to this somwhere most people said freewebs, but if your gonna hose your own forum, you need features that Freewebs dont. The big forum engines (phpBB, IPB, VB) all use PHP and mysql. I dont think freewebs offer php, and i know they dont offer mysql. Some other engines (SMF - i reccomend it, good sis) also use php and mysql. Some others (YaBB) use perl which i havnt bothered with.

yea, pretty much.
in second semester we have 100% of our grade marked on this one assignment. we can do whatever we want for it and i was going to create a site like this...with users and forums etc.

and frames are all good now... i figured it out

and it rocked!!! 100%

i made that, forum uses SMF. On thwe front page, the news is taken from the forum using SIS, login area to the right, messages down the bottom is the forum using SIS.

*edit* if it needs user interaction i can help with that:
-use Dawg Tag for a shoutbox. its very simple and u can easily remove the abnoxious copyright notice

-Use PJIRC as an IRC java applet.

If your site is going to be of reasonable size, and you knwo it, you may want to consider paying for a more high-end forum engine. i reccomend IPB, latest version.
