I like the Brotherhood thou

25 Jan 2007 - 21:31 perth

LegenD says:

Yes, come into the Brotherhood SC. You are always welcome....

So tell me JK, what does number 3 do? I haven't played it, but heard it was awesome.... I really liked MGS2. But I couldn't get the linkup between the first 2. Is there meant to be one? If so, do you know what it is?

25 Jan 2007 - 21:36 Melbourne, Victoria

JediKnight says:

Number three is like before all of the Metal Gear Solids. It's when naked snake (what he is called, not really naked), is younger, and he takes on the cobra unit with the boss leading it (his old cqc trainer)

He ends up killing her along with the rest of the cobra unit, awesome stuff, lol

And he then get's the title of the 'Big Boss'

25 Jan 2007 - 21:49 Melbourne

LegenD says:

I loved MGS2, esp the part when the computer tells you to turn off the game... it did kind of freak me out when I first heard it. I tend to enjoy such things - it makes you think, just like the matrix.

So what was number 1 all about? And what are the VR mission expansions that I have heard of?

25 Jan 2007 - 21:58 Melbourne, Victoria

JediKnight says:

MGS1 is based in 2005, and features the character Solid Snake, which is a clone of the original Snake, and it's about this Nuclear uprising and all, i'll explain tommorrow, i g2g

25 Jan 2007 - 22:03 Melbourne

LegenD says:

And here I was waiting for this long story on why/what/how....

This better be good if you're gonna make me wait...lol.... In the meantime, if anyone else wants to fill me in, please do! Who knows, you could be offered a position in MGS?

The orginal Metal Gear Solid rocks!! Snakes out in this huge fortress gameplay is very similar to the second one (control wise)

but here's a bit of run down:

The original Metal Gear debuted on the MSX2 computer in 1987 in Japan and Europe. This was one of the first games in which using stealth was emphasized over direct confrontation with the enemy, a young Hideo Kojima's response to the shooting-based game designs which prevailed at the time. Many of the series' trademark aspects were already present, including the wireless communicator used by the player's character. The game was later released in North America, Europe and Japan on the NES/Famicom, selling over a million units.

A sequel, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, was released in 1990 for the MSX2 in Japan only. Metal Gear 2 made numerous enhancements and additions to the game, including a deeper and more developed storyline, along with significant improvements in gameplay and AI. Many of its gameplay and plot elements were carried over to its sequel Metal Gear Solid.

The Metal Gear series made a comeback in 1998 in the form of Metal Gear Solid for the PlayStation, which adapted the gameplay of its predecessor Metal Gear 2 in 3D. While the first two Metal Gear titles were moderately successful, Metal Gear Solid was a huge hit, selling over 6 million units.[1] This paved the way for similar stealth-based games and at the same time, established Metal Gear as one of Konami's hallmarks!!

felixdacat says:

The PS version kicked butt!!

Unlike most other games, Metal Gear Solid really knows how to tell a story. You, as retired super sneaky agent Solid Snake, must infiltrate a base that has been overrun by terrorists. These terrorists, however, are members of your old unit, a top secret organization known as Fox Hound. The hounders are sitting on a super secret new weapon and enough nuclear warheads to send the planet back to the Ice Age. Your mission (no choice here - you're forced to accept) is to infiltrate the base carrying nothing but a pair of binoculars and a pack of smokes, check up on a couple hostages, find out if Fox Hound even has the ability to carry out its apocalyptic threats, and if it does, stop it!!

JediKnight says:

And Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops is based 6 years after the events of Snake Eater (Metal Gear Solid 3)... Portable Ops is named that not because of it being on the Playstation Portable but because you can recruit Ops. You knock out the enemy, drag him to the truck and then you've captured him and a few days later in the game, he would've joined your side

The maximum amount of units you can have on your side is 100, but you choose the very best of them. And they all have codenames of animals and all, kinda weird but cool.

- I'm trying to beat Portable Ops for the third time, but i'm doing it on Extreme difficulty but it's very very hard.

- If anybody has any queries or wants to ask a question about the gang then email me through this site...
