I dont think promoting the use of 'free' music download sites where people rip music tracks and upload them onto the net for others to download and play (without actually paying for the music) is a practise this site should encourage.

After all, downloading music (without paying for it) is an infringement of copyright law.

there wouldnt be a record label in business today that would allow you to take their product free of charge.

so, again without being too padantic i dont even think the promotion of a product that gives you the capabilities to 'steal' music should be mentioned on this site.

heres the thing - using limewire to share copyright protected material is ILLEGAL no matter whether you pay for limewire or not.

Blubster (I can't remember if that was the name.) Oh and for the last to I think they carry viruses. Frostwire doesn't carry virsues unless your downloading other stuff using Frostwire.

Bearshare turned into a pay thing about 2? years ago.

The only reason limewire gets closed down, is because at no point does any content cross their path. All it is-is a search feature allowing people to find other peoples music.

This is the case from what i heard off my teacher. When your are downloading off limewire,bittorrent or whatever its classified as "sharing". Only when you copy the music or movies to CDs and sell or rent to others it becomes a breach to the copyright infrindgement.They're still battleing it now in court. Even though i download music, i still buy CDs of my fav bands for collection purposes.
