Key of Heaven is one of the first RPG to come out on the PSP. It follows your character named Shinbu whose father supposably died many years ago . Your clan, the “Eastern Seriyu Clan” has been whipped out while you have been away. The land is divided into 5 different clans and you have to search the world and discover who was behind this. On the way you will gain new allies and friends along with new enemies that appear and get stronger throughout the game. GAME PLAY: The game play in Key of Heaven is has a good battle system, yet it lacks the ability to roam freely (through forest and such). A good point is that there are no loading screens when going into a battle and there are no random battles (you can see all of your enemies from a distance). As you go through the game you find kenpu and with these you gain abilities and new fighting styles. Overall, this game has a good difficulty level and is a good game to go through. 8/10 Graphics: The graphics in Key of Heaven are good when it comes to the PSP. There smooth outlines of the character and it is not pixelated. There are no frame rate trouble and the cut scenes look great. There are very nice views and the magic graphics don’t look fake and dodgy. The people all have distinct facial and bodily features that define then from each other and they all look fairly realistic. One discount is that the ground can look blurred sometimes, but this isn’t a major thing. 9/10 MUSIC: The music in this game is average at best. It starts off ok, but then gets repetitive and rather annoying. It works much better turning the sound off and listening to an ipod whilst playing. The music doesn’t come to the standard of the rest of the game. 6/10 Learning Curve: The controls on Key of Heaven are fairly easy to pick up. They are not too play with and are not fiddley. The controls are single button presses along with different moves when you hold them down. A basic set of controls for the game are theses: • Arrows------move • X-------------hiken arts • O-------------attack • O(hold)------defend • Square-------chi arts • Triangle------use item 7/10 Overall: Key of Heaven is a fairly good game with a well lengthened story line. For those of you who do not enjoy playing for long sessions at a time or don’t like any RPG games I would stay clear of this game. Although for those of you who enjoy a lengthy game that is quite hard (especially the final boss, I felt so proud when I beat it lol) and like RPG’s then this is your game!! Gameplay---------8/10 Graphics---------8/10 Music------------7/10 Learning Curve---7/10 OVERALL-------------------7.5/10 Note the review adding section wouldn't let me put 7.5 so i put 8, cause i reckon it is more a 8 than a 7.
