Time Machine Tutorial

Guide placed together by BJ2

YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. NEITHER ME OR THIS SITE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU, OR ANYTHING YOU HAVE

TO DO THIS YOU NEED A PANDORA's BATTERY AND A MAGIC MEMORY STICK WITH A VERSION OF DESPERTAR CEMENTERIO ON IT!

Downloads

360 psar: This must be dumped from a 3.60 PSP Slim (PM me for more details)
Time machine - Password http://www.teamxdesigns.downthe.net/forum/index.php
Official 1.50
Official 3.40

At the end of this guide, you will be able to use your Pandora's battery normaly, with the option of booting into pandora mode, which is great because it means you only need one battery
To do this, if you only have a pandora at the moment and plan to do this to use it as both normal and pandora and time machin (as i have), then you may need to boot via the charger being plugged in

Instructions

1) Get a pandora battery and a magic memory stick with a version of despertar, if you don't have one go here to make one: 3.xx Pandora Guide
2) Put a USB cable in your PSP and select USB mode under settings
3) Go into your psp's drive (eg. G: or I:) so you are looking at a folder called PSP
4) Find the 1.50 and 3.40 firmwares you downloaded
5) Rename them to 150.PBP and 340.PBP
6) Copy and paste them next to the PSP file, not inside. So you can look at them and the PSP folder at once (this is called your PSP's ROOT)
7) THIS STEP IS FOR PSP SLIM's ONLY = Now copy the 360.PSAR to the "ROOT" aswell (once downloded and extracted)
8) Now go into the PSP folder, then into the GAME folder
9) Copy the Time Machine app you downloaded and extracted into the GAME file you are in
10) Now exit USB mode and scroll across to game then down to memory stick
11) press X on the app called "TIME MACHINE"
12) Press X on the First option then go back to the main menu
(This next step is highly recomended because it means you can use you time machine battery as a Pandora aswell, but isn't required)
13) Press X on the 2nd option from the top, then return to the main menue.

If you are on a Slim then do this

1) Choose the option "Install 1.50 with 3.40 hw modules (Phat & Slim)" this may take a few minutes
2) Once that is finnished, select the option "install 3.60 M33 (Slim)
3) Note, selecting these will not actualy install the firmwares, it enables you to have the option (see below) you must do this
4) You are now done, look below for instructions

Or if you are on a Phat then do this

1) Choose the optio "Install 1.50 (PhAT) this may take a few minutes
2) Once that is Finnished, select option "Install 1.50 with 3.40 hw modules (Phat & Slim)" this may take a few minutes
3) Once that is finnished, select "Install 3.40 OE (PHAT)" this may take a few minutes
4) Note, selecting these will not actualy install the firmwares, it enables you to have the option (see below) you must do this
5) You are now done, look below for instructions

Using the Time Machine

Using the Time machine is very similar to booting into recovery mode.
When turning on your psp, holding different buttons will do different things

Holding Up (on the D-PAD) Boot into your pandora menus Slim and Phat
Holding Circle Boot into 1.50 with 3.40 hw modules Slim and Phat
Holding Square Boot into 3.60 m33 Slim only
Holding Cross Boot into 1.50 Phat only
Holding Triangle Boot into 3.40 OE Phat only

Hope that helped you. Please PM me or post below if you have troubles or spot any errors.

Yeah it's exactly like having despertar cementerio installed you hold buttons when turning the psp on to load firmwares/unbrickers and press nothing to load your current xmb.

BJ2 said: LoveIsMurder13 said: Uhh so what's this actually do for a phat psp?? or even a slim psp??

dunno if this has anything to do with it but what does the add-on 1.5 kernal do for a phat psp??

well, first of all, the 1.50 kernel addon has nothing to do with this, but it means that you can play stuff that you could onlyplay on v1.50

and this app, means that you can boot your psp into it's normal firmware, or into other older firmwares. this is very useful for slim psp's as it lets them have 1.50 kernel support which was not capable with slims unti now. Or it can boot to the pandora menue

and for phats, you can boot into older firmwares to play new stuff and old stuff

another useful point is that because the other booted firmwares are from the memory stick, so you can use a bricked psp with this

Couldn't you pretty much do all that with a phat psp anyways??

Anyways, great guide.

If you make a pandora's battery and magic memory stick, then put Despertar cementerio 3 or 4 or the magic memory stick (very easy), and then install this (also easy), then yes

onnce this is all setup, i turn my psp with my pandora and magic time machine memory stick it boots completely normaly to my 3.90 m33-2 (which i have installed awhile ago)

BUT, the answer to your question is no. It doesn't boot up normaly for any firmware under 3.90 m33-2

IF you upgraded to 3.90 m33-2, then you could boot your psp and it would load up normaly, or hold a button to make it do something else

*EDIT*

WOW i just read that and didn't make sence to myself, ill say it better:

Yes, it will boot absolutly normaly (not the pandora menue or anything else) if you are on 3.90 m33-2 or higher (but there isn't higher yet)
