you are allowed to record a conversation provided there isnt a third party involved. that is if the conversation is only between you and him and no one else listens in on the conversation that is ok. you dont need his persmission to record the conversation.

just be very careful about this. doing it the wrong way may lead to further confrontations or ramifications.
