Iraq's the problem, more so than Afganistan.

There's one thing that seperates the 2 leaders. Rudd is a scroungy little rat. Howard is an old scroungy little rat.

Howard would retire early next year, Costello take over as PM, hell no. That's just embarrasing.

Yes, Howard has screwed us over many a time, but i think Rudd is more than capable of doing the same thing.

Liberal still has something to throw at them i reckon, give it a week or two, they have something in their pocket.

All these changes that Howard say's are going to happen if he stays PM: now tell me, do you think that he was actually going to do them in the first place as he should, or is he only doing them now that Rudd has offered a challenge?

not to point out the fact that the reason people are not happy with john howards *working family policies*....... people are upset becasue they cannot work from 9 till 5 and pay off there over expensive houses and there fantastic cars while taking their kids out on the weekend and still put money away to save....this is ridiculous, since when do people have the rights to work 9 till 5 and get all that when there are people out there including myself who bust our asses working 60+ a week......i know for a fact my brother last week who manages a resteraunt worked 72 hours, now he is not even 20 yet and his first house is nearly finished being built but he works bloody hard for that money, all these people who are voting for kevin rudds working family choices want it all for a 38 hour week, good luck with that!!!!!

also something i heard when Kevin Rudd first started making his appearence he promised to help australian battlers who were earning under 250,000 dollars a year. now if that is a battler ill kick myself in the balls

i have one point, if there was a priminister that wasnt born with a golden rod up his ass, and lived in suburbia, possible we could get more results...then again, maybe not...arrrghh, oh well i choose rudd, purley cus big eyebrow jonny has screwed me many of time...including saying many yrs ago...if u vote for me ill make sure theres no gst...bull****, jonny u suck more balls than a korean girl holding a hoover

but we must remember, the gorvernment is here to make things fair, there here to balance out good and evil..yet they only strive for the rich...bloody poloticians

So the best advice i can give people (including myself) when we vote is to be like a midget in a urinal...allways stay on your toes!

I've been learing about the GST in my TAFE course.

Before the GST, food and so on was indeed cheaper, but cars, electronics and white goods (luxury items) were more expensive because they were pretty much the only thing with tax.
Because of that, only certain classes of society could afford any of it.

But when the GST was introduced, those things became cheaper because the tax was spread out.
So even though Howard lied, and food is more expensive, it is a fairer tax becasue everyone pays, not just the privileged.
And besides, without the GST how many of us would have been able to afford our PSPs?

Also, my class was told that other Countries pay more GST and tax than Aust.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm not a fan of Howard's (I could do a better job at running this country. Everyone would prosper under my benevolent iron-fisted rule!!!! And no, I haven't had any soft drink today ).

Sorry if none of that made sense, but I have a habit of daydreaming when I'm supposed to be paying attention in class. And I also have a habit of ramlbing on a bit.

Anyway, if you don't want to pay GST on things like food, then just buy freash meat and produce. There's no GST on any of that.

GST is in everything, but y should we pay cheaper for luxury's when its food and such that keeps us alive, make it easier for people to live, not cheaper for people to go out and by luxeries and be lazy, when food is becoming a scaress as the rest, food and survival should remian first, then luxury..we need to eat and need fuel for cars and what not...stop making aussies lazy..help them with what matters first, screw the lcd tv and such atm, make houses cheaper, do this and that, not give us **** at a cheaper price that consitantly makes us lazier god damn it

Sorry - I don't have an opinion on all this... I really don't care who wins... we are screwed either way (end of story). The only reason people might vote for labour is because they do not want to see ello ello ello... Peter Costello... (if anyone has the link to the age website for the rap btw Rudd and Howard - do add it here!).

As for the working families - there are different types of working families: some people choose to do it in the long hard hours of work and others through the long hard hours of study. For those that do choose to do the study option - they get taxed massively (well so do the other people, but obviously, if you study - you may be able to get better jobs etc etc... I said MAY) ... to the point of 50% of salary. Then people wonder why there is brain drain in this country. So why would anyone want to study further only to have their salaries halved? Mmm, my 2 cents worth

It's not that people are lazy. With the old tax in place, the only people paying it were the rich.
They were essentially paying for everything. From roads, to hospitals, to the politicians salary.

The GST may be in everything, but it is fairer, and at least it's easy to determine how much of what we pay for something is GST. The perenctage doesn't change.

lol Don't get me wrong though. I'm not a fan of Howard's government. All Politicians lie.

Voting for Rudd. He supports pulling Aussie troops out of Iraq, and I for one am not keen on being sent there in Dec. Look, good points, or bad points, Rudd comes out on top. Before the election, it was just one bad thing after another and another with Howard. Howard hasn't shown any real power. He's just another bureaucrat up on the hill. A puppet of his advisors. Whereas Rudd makes his own decisions. And wisely.

I mean, when is Rudd ever going to have a $200,000 wine budget at Kirribilli House, party and then call it a fundraising event?

Meh. Either way, as a bloke, I'd still choose Rudd. Mad guy, going to stripclubs aahaha. Whereas Howard hasn't shown any real compassion to even his wife in the last 10 years. He's like an automaton, a robot designed for it, but he's not doing his job properly.

Whenever he guarantee's something, 72% of the population doesn't know to decide if it's true or not.
If he guaranteed another action right now, would you believe it? Or would you just add it to the "Howard's apparently to-do list"

Come on, he's lied so many times that if you asked him a straight question to his face and he said yes, you wouldn't even know if THAT was true.

And as a military leader, Howard is a pure idiot. Many of my unit agree with me, and despise him. Other than the types of guys that want to stay in Iraq, so they choose Howard.

By many people's standards, this is not acceptable of him. It's just

I think with election time, it's not who has the better policies and so forth who will win. It's who has the more attractive lies.

As for Rudd going to a strip club, who cares? I don't.
