Unless you have extremely high intentions to smash your player around then it's always the wiser choice to invest in a harddrive based unit. They always turn out cheeper and generally hold 15 to 20 times more.

In short, buy the 80GB, not the 8GB.

True, but some people are usually after size. ooh, 30gb zen, hows that going. I broke mine like last year.

lets see, NOT ALL IPODS HAVE A HARDDRIVE!

HDD
Ipod classic gen 1-6
flash
Nano gen 1-3
shuffle gen 1-2
touch/iphone

flash is for if you wan't to wait a while for things to copy but advantage to flash is that if your syncing your ipod you can browse through the data that you save on your ipod without it slowing down.
HDD are known for speed but if your syncing, you won't be able to multitask with the storage of the ipod unless your EXTREMELY patient.

I was referring to that, i wasn't trying to change you mind to get an ipod. just proving you wrong about all ipods having HDD's

1 cause no point in a HDD too big
2 power consumption, the pin moving takes up some power

Ipod earphones are known for their "easy of breakingness." Well if you listen to them loud they will usually blow because apple are stupid enough to supple headphones that can only take 80% of the volume out put of the ipod itself.
