Need For Speed Carbon: Own The City Reviews \ Detail

Need For Speed Carbon: Own da City (Rating: Radical) - 8/10

Developer : EA
Wireless Multiplayer: Yes
Game Sharing: No
Wireless LAN: Yes
Requires Memory Stick: Yes

Need for speed carbon: Own the city features some great stuff. But unfortunately, it isn't like the original "Carbon" at all.
I'd highly recommend this game to anyone as long as its not too expensive. Because this game is fun, but not worth $80!

Graphics: 6.2
As you may have noticed by looking at the images above and below this text, The PSP version of NFS has pretty dissapointing graphics, theres not even a basic nitrous exhaust flame!

I expected the NFSPSP series to at least compete with the PSP version of Midnight Club 3!

Some good news though is that the reflections in this game are so detailed and noticable, that it draws your attension away from everything else! Its pretty sweet!

Sound: 9.8
The soundtrack of this game is pretty much identical to the original version of this game(thank god for that!).
Yep, its got all the Dynamite MC, Hype Boys, Wolfmother etc. as all the other versions of the game.

The gameplay sound is also just as good. You can hear the screeching of the tires, you can hear(but not see) the nitrous ignition, the engines roar, your teammates talk, your car makes a shattering noise when it hits something really hard! Heck! You can even hear your foes drafts and engines from about 10 metres away!

One extra feature that you don't see in many games is the custom soundtrack feature. Using the EA media player, you can choose the songs you want to be played in the menus! It's a great feature, though it should work for gameplay too. Oh well

Gameplay:8.9
Well, if you don't think about the customization(I'll get to that later), you'll notice this game has a very fun ring to it that causes you to keep on playing! 'Cause even though it's nothing like the original, it's still really fun!

Now, to the customization! NFSC:OTC doesn't feature autosculpt mode, which is a HUGE dissapointment for me!

For those wondering, auto sculpt is a new name for customise in NFSC, it has the feature to adjust the size, depth, angle and style of a body part. Now if you were me and love the customization feature of NFSU and later, you'll be noticing the lack of options.

Depth(Progression):10.0
The story mode to this game will last alot longer than the original game, there's 14 territories to Own instead of 4
Cool huh?

After you've played story mode, you can continue to search for bonus crates and earn up cash to buy all the cars, because theres no free-customizing mode.

Online:9.5
I loved the online multiplayer of this game! Dude, when I tried it, the lobby was full of players, you could set up your own account and even message each other when your not racing! It was pretty cool.

So if you weren't into the whole Racing thing, you could use this game as an online messenger instead, and talk to your friends

Lastability:7.1
After you've finished the game which takes awhile and you've unlocked everything, this games gets dull almost INSTANTLY! 'Cause the only thing that keeps me paying need for speed games is the multiplayer and customization!
Good ol' customization!

Well everyone, I hope you've onjoyed this and all of my other reviews so far, please post your thoughts.

And If I screwed up somewhere, please tell me so I can fix it! Thanx

Not all of the features, it actually allows you to add your own music to the menus soundtrack!
I'll add that in now!
