Daxter - 9/10

In this episode of the Jak stories you play as the sarcastically funny Daxter on an epic buttkicking adventure which is set in between Jak 1 and 2. Just after arriving in Haven city on an old, mystical precusor artifact Jak is Kidnapped and Daxter is on the run from the Crimzon gaurds trying to find a way to save him. Unfortunately "almost" two years pass and Daxter is a tall tale teller at a bar in a tiny sector of haven city. "I was surrounded by five... eh fifty five of the nastyest lurkers you ever saw." Soon Daxter is confronted by Ozmo, the director and spray technician for the kridder rider extermination facility. Daxter is very discouraged by Ozmos words and Ozmo tells him to come to the shop the next day to start his new job.

Your weapon is an eletric swatter which you obtain by Ozmo just before your first mission at the Westside hotel. Soon after in another mission you recieve the bug sprayer from a young woman kmown as Taryn which stuns the bugs you come across in the game. With a few modifications you can hover in mid-air by jumping and activating the bug spray in the time of about two seconds.
You can also recieve two cool upgrades for the bug sprayer, one being the Ultrasonic attachment and the other being the flamethrower attachment. The Ultrasonic attatment shoots projectiles with radial damage. The other attatchment allows you to make the sprayer into a flamethrower which is active until you turn it off via the Left and right directional buttons. You can collect spray for the sprayer which are in the form of globes. One globe will refil one qauter of the canester for the sprayer. These green toxic globes can be found all over the place as soon as you get the sprayer.

Yet again the precusor orbs come in as a form of money and are used to unlock secrets and the brand new Dream secqences (Which are explained in the Paragraph five of this review). Other obtainables are the following: Metal bug gems which you must collect to proceed foward in the game,healthpacks are vital to surving and will replenish Daxter's life by two bars, Bug cages contain combat bugs that battle in the multiplayer mode or in single player combats (more in paragraph six) and items to battle with in bug combat.

Daxters stories of brain and brawn might be impossible and far fetched but his tales dont just happen in his woken hours. In Daxters sleep you can play mini games to learn new moves and power up by pressing buttons that appear on screen. These are called dream sequences which can be accessed by going to bed in the kridder ridder bug shop. They usually appear after collecting a high amount of precursor orbs.

The bug Combat system allows players to connect to their friends via WLAN or single player combat against a computer. In Multiplayer you can play against another person and their bugs where as in single player you verse a computer and level up.

Grapghics are beautiful with stunning details that really match the game in so many ways - 9/10

Great sound with awesome efects yet again match the game well- 10/10

Gameplay is really good. Controls are simple and easy to use- 9.5/
