Pfft.. no way.

It was all action. Only like 6 words of Trekkie terminology you need to know/work out (never watched the show in my life and i knew what theywere on about). It was a mainstream movie, made for the masses. The only nerdy part about it was the fact it was based on Star Trek, but then i don't think ST is that bad - just that they have their conventions.

Umm.. pretty sure there's plenty of people just avoiding it to avoid being pidgeon-holed as a nerd because of the 'geek' factor. Much like how people bagged out 'emo' music and avoided it because of the undertones.

It's nothing like the show.

I've seen like.. maybe an episode or two, but this would have been when it was still on telly over here, maybe ten years ago? Can't imagine it is anything like it, tbh.

Just go for a really good film, if anything. It's like Star Wars with balls, and way better dialogue, story, plot, CGI, fight scenes.
