I think most people really missed the point of this piece. It was all about how dead celebrities are sanctified posthumously, which we've seem some pretty stunning examples of in the past year or two.
The piece was actually quite funny, clever and well written.
Ultimately, what is more obscene? This comedy skit, or the shameless profiteering that occurs when many celebrities die. For crying out loud Princess Di has become an industry after death and Steve Irwin's funeral resembled an entertainment spectacular.
Personally, I feel the best comedy is the comedy that pushes the limits and puts people offside. You see this in many of the great comedies/comedians whether it be Monty Python, Bill Hicks, Sacha Baron Cohen (Ali G & Borat) and South Park.
As for the previous comments about Princess Di... Her charitable efforts were invariably not that special, and the bit in the chaser lyrics about her being a... you know what... are actually true. This is a woman who repeatedly cheated on her husband!
