I sugest you get in contact with Lewace11 because you need some files on a memory stick also which are not easy to obtain.
And remember, don't rush things, take your time.
Oh, and what lewace didn't point out is that your PSP battery will not work as a normal battery after this. If i where you i would find a place to buy an official Old (phat) psp's battery and a 128mb memory stick for this.But thats just me

im about to go out to get a memory stick. i know you said i should get a 128mb, but the link i posted earlier says at least 512. i dont want to spend money i dont need to, but r u sure a 128 will be enough.
