Need For Speed Underground Rivals - 5/10

Gameplay 7/10
NFS Rivals is a PSP version of the Underground series on Playstaion and Xbox. Though this game is not as in depth as the others it offers 20 different cars to purchase, upgrade and mod. This allows you to add body kits, neon’s, tints, and all other kinds of stuff. Personally I love this game keeps me very entertained (when I am meant to be working). The loading times are great and if you’re a fan of the underground series and like racing games this one is great when you are on the run!

Game Graphics 8/10
The graphics are pretty good in NFS rivals, not quite as good as the graphics in Ridge Race. The only thing that I found is that it sometimes stutters in parts especially when going under buildings, which kinds of messes up your race. Still the look of the cars is amazing,. You can spay your car with high gloss paint (hey good lookin) which makes the cars look great. Considering that this is the first of the NFS franchise for the PSP the graphics are spot on.

Game Sound 8/10
The music is great not boring like a lot of games all music that I had heard of and a great feature is that you can select the music which you want to listen to from the options menu. Unfortunately after playing for a couple of hours I tented to turn down the PSP and listen to my mp3’s as the songs are limited. The sounds FX of the cars are exactly like any other racing game you know the broom of the engine and the squeaks of the breaks.


Lasting 6/10
One big problem with this game is that all the tracks look the same, wait a minute they are the same. Just different parts blocked off, so as you can imagine it gets very repetitive after a while. Personally though I find myself still sitting there playing away for hours on end. There are several different difficulty settings and certain medals you need to win to unlock the special “boss cars”.
