With video recording i was so impressed with the quality and reproduction of sound with playback! it's so clear and the white balance/saturation/brightness etc is so good that it is a great substitute for a low end video camera when you dont have one with you!
Sound wise, the main speaker for calls is VERY clear.. its sound is flat but also very crisp. and its also loud enough to hear in almost all conditions. if you want it even louder, there's a speakerphone function.
Sound wise, in terms of the stereophonic speakers for listening to music and also the reproduction of ringtones is also very loud (which is a great make up for the no Vibe+Ring). mp3/aac/aac+ ringtones start off soft first then boost up to a louder volume, which has its good points and bad points.
sms tones are by default, unable to be assigned by mp3/aac/aac+ files. and to finish off for now, there are many PIM applications, java games, a choice between Block and a 'flash' style Menu, the speed is very fast, the phone is very sexy indeed and is of very strong and sturdy build.
i rate this phone 9/10 - as you said, there is no such thing as a perfect phone
