PSP-4000 in 2009 and PSP2 in Development?

According to Eurogamer Sony is hard at work on a PSP-4000 model to be released during 2009. Meanwhile the company is also developing the successor to the PSP, appropriately nicknamed the PSP2. They have received this information from publishers who were unable to provide further information, but confirmed they were working on software for the PSP2.

Eurogamer are sure on the creditability of their sources but Sony gave the usual "we don not comment on speculation and rumour" statement.

We'll have more information as it's released.

either way i am content with my PSP 3000 and wont get the first PSP2 because about 3 months after the first one comes out they will release a new PSP2 called the "PSP2 20,000".

That sounds cool, but in hindsight i can't see it happening. Only possible if hard drives improve and they end up selling games on portable HDs.

The Slim was 33% slimmer, had output for TVs and had a few more features.
The PSP-3000 had a brighter screen....

The way things are going, I doubt the PSP-4000 will be much different.

I'd like to see, built in web cam, and better internet radio ie make it so u could put your own stations in, ie local and via net, gps and maybe some kind of hard drive,
but I do love my psp, would be great to see what they could do with it

it just might be a project name for a full remake of the console keeping the purpose of the PSP , a portable playstation



yeah true they wouldnt just call it PSP2, it lacks creativity...
but when you think about, Sony name their consoles 'Playstation 2' and 'Playstation 3'
not like Microsoft, which went with the name xbox360

i don't think they will call the "PSP2" PSP2 .

it just might be a project name for a full remake of the console keeping the purpose of the PSP , a portable playstation
