News \ Rockstar Claim Chinatown Wars Bigger than PSP GTA

Gordon Hall the president of Rockstar Leeds, the developer behind GTA: Chinatown Wars, has told Nintendo Power that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS will be "far bigger" than either of the PSP GTA titles. The studio also developed GTA: Liberty City Stories along with Vice City Stories for the PSP but despite the lesser DS hardware Hall claims Chinatown Wars is set to take the cake.

Chinatown Wars has it over the PSP versions with "more odd jobs, deeper missions, and more moments of over-the-top action," according to Hall. The DS version also features "huge interaction with the Rockstar Social Club [and] a massive [narcotics trafficking] game that would stand alone on its own." Rockstar appear to be attempting to crush any remaining doubt about a 'watered down' GTA game for the DS, although only time will tell if they've truly succeeded.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be released for the Nintendo DS in Australia on March 20 2009.

I think it's just that there's a modern day standard that we put up with, or expect, and this doesn't go anywhere near that.
