GRAPHICS: GTA: Liberty City Stories produced graphics that were generally very good. Toni looked great along with the many other characters along the way. The game provided quite realistic graphics although in some cut scenes it seemed a bit too much like a cartoon. The buildings were quite good but some were disappointing. I found that generally the graphics gave a good experience with no major complaints. One of the most amusing things in the whole game was when I first chopped of some guys’ head with my katana (samurai sword) and I saw his blood spurt out from his neck like a fountain. One disappointment was if you were driving your car or bike or whatever then as you were driving cars coming up to you didn’t have any defined shape or colour pattern and it usually took a few seconds for it to go into its usually car shape before I passed it. However, generally the graphics were a success. Graphics: 8.5/10 SOUND: The quality of sound was indeed quite high as I couldn’t find barely any faults in the games’ sound. All the radio stations sounded perfect as I drove along. All the explosions and gunshots sounded very realistic and gave a sometimes gave a sense of huge fear with the major case of this being in the mission ‘Portland Chainsaw Masquerade’ were you were in an enclosed space with guys with chainsaws trying to kill you. You really freak the first time you hear it in that mission especially as it is one of the most challenging missions in the game. Overall his graphics were excellent. Sound: 9/10 GAMEPLAY: The gameplay was excellent with having a huge range of mission types and other side missions available. The time that you may start to hate this game is when you reach the ‘Portland Chainsaw Masquerade’ mission which I have already explained. However this can be overcome by running around with a shotgun and shooting them down one by one but for people who found this so painful I suggest using the slower gameplay cheat. It allows you to not sh*t your pants when in there so you can increase your reaction times greatly. All the missions were very entertaining and you could hardly ever predict what was going to happen. Missions ranged from stealing stuff, killing a bunch of guys, protecting some guys, getting to a destination alive, controlling something remotely to kill some guys and many other things. Driving was also a great experience as there were a wide range of vehicles which performed a different range of jobs which could please everybody. The gangsters all were very hostile which at time became somewhat annoying as you would simply be walking around your safe house and then some guys are shooting at you. This can be very bad sometime because if you are in a gangster invested area you are stuffed. I am sure that all people will love the gameplay as it is so variable. Gameplay: 9.5/10 DIFFICULTY: This game was very difficult at times which was good to a certain degree. However there were some extremely basic missions only requiring you to go to some place but they were quite rare. Most missions got you heart racing and nearly half of all mission took more than one try to pass. This game is enjoyably difficult but I still felt that it did need to be slightly more difficult. Overall the difficulty was alright but did need hardening up. Difficulty: 7/10 VALUE: This game was good value for your money is it would still take some masters al least two weeks to pass, however if your are like me it will take you nearly five months to pass all the main missions. However I have still not passed all the side missions. This game I feel needed to have more main missions because if was quite disappointed when I found out that I had just completed the last mission. However you will find it fun just to stuff around by killing random cops and gangsters. There is a huge range of things to do and it will take some time for you to get bored. This game is great value for money however I could have done with a few more main missions, overall good. Value: 9/10 Review by Litzys
