Anyway, got my housemate to play through sons of liberty the other day. Still awesome but some parts are so much more tacky than I remember. Some parts are still as confusing as ever too ...

Which leads me to think, is there a general Metal Gear forum where we can talk about the whole thing (story etc)? I love in-depth discussions about people's theories. The good thing about having a topic like that is that it can take awhile to die down because there's just so much to talk about. Anyway, no matter what I won't take part until I've finished Portible Ops, whenever it comes.

well on PSP it is by far the best........on other console's though i dont think that you can beat MGS2 on playstation, the boat scene was just so fun.....

I know what you mean. Tanker was definitely the most exciting part of the game, it also felt way more 'metal gearish' than any other part of SOL. The level design was much more interesting, snake looks cooler than raiden, AND you don't get a call every freakin 2 seconds.
Though raiden looks like he'll redeem himself in mgs4.

I didnt even get to play the tanker mission, after years of playing MGS I realized that I never officially completed the game because I turned of the console before the credits finished and therefore didnt get a chance to save it after its completed. But I like Snake Eater better than Sons of Liberty because I like fighting The End in duel mode over and over again.
